Percussive Therapy

$10

Percussive Therapy is defined as the rapid and repetitive application of pressure perpendicular to the body, and it causes the tissues to experience both pressure and vibration. The amplitude and frequency with which massage guns go on and the come off the body keeps the brain from acclimating to the stimulation and overrides some of the pain signals being sent to the brain. The stimulation distracts the brain away from the pain, closes the gate to the pain signals, causing vibratory analgesia, while also delivering deep and effective treatment. The fluids and hyaluronic acid between the layers of fascia becomes morçe fluid as a result of the percussive pressure being applied to the area, allowing for more movement of the soft tissues. It also has a positive effect on the distribution of the fluids, unlike plain vibration therapy. Stimulation of different mechanoreceptors and the decrease in sympathetic activity that happens through percussive therapy can decrease muscle tension and tone. It also can help with the healthy remodelling of the soft tissues through mechanotransduction. It brings increased blood flow to the area through vasodilation, which increases oxygen and key nutrients to the muscle tissue as well as the removal of waste products. In conclusion, percussive therapy has huge benefits for those clients who really want their muscles to fully recover from use and who want to obtain the full benefits of massage.
